It all started in the late 1990's when Terryn and I found bands like Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Mogwai, and The For Carnation. But it wasn't until 2002 and we heard Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, ISIS, and Pelican that we started to make sense of the genre. We began to recognize the similar sensibilities for emotion and ambience in these bands songs. By using Wikipedia and MySpace we found even more bands we love; enough to start our own radio show. And so it began, in January 2007 we started farpastpost radio with 100 bands and a lot to learn about broadcasting. A big reason for starting this show and radio station was to reach out to other fans of this music and share the bands they love. In short, we want to hear from YOU, the fans and bands. Tell us what you think of what we're playing, and send us suggestions for bands you would like us to play at farpastpost@gmail.com. Thanks for listening. - Mike & Terrynmailto:farpastpost@gmail.comshapeimage_6_link_0
